In North Charleston, South Carolina, a man attempted to vandalize Tesla Supercharger stations by setting them on fire. Before igniting the chargers, he spray-painted messages on the pavement, including "long live the Ukraine" and an expletive directed at President Donald Trump. During the act, the man accidentally set his own clothing on fire before fleeing the scene. The incident is under investigation by local authorities and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
This event is part of a broader trend of anti-Tesla and anti-Elon Musk vandalism. Similar incidents have occurred, including the destruction of Tesla vehicles in Seattle and arson attacks on charging stations near Boston. These actions are often linked to opposition against Musk's political affiliations and his role in the current administration.
